Do You Need a Visa?
Visa requirements for entering Hungary depend on your nationality. As a member of the Schengen Area, Hungary allows citizens of many countries to enter without a visa for short stays, while travelers from other countries must obtain a Schengen Visa (Type C) before traveling.
Please check the official websites below to confirm the visa requirements based on your nationality:
Visa Types
Hungary offers several visa options depending on the purpose and duration of your stay. Conference participants typically travel under one of the following:
- Schengen Visa (Type C) – Intended for short-term stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for purposes such as tourism, business, conferences, or academic events. This is the most common visa for conference attendees.
- Visa-Free Entry – Citizens of eligible countries may enter Hungary and other Schengen countries without a visa for short stays, subject to current Schengen regulations.
- National Visa (Type D) – Issued for long-term stays exceeding 90 days, generally for employment, study, or family reunification. This visa is typically not required for conference participants.
As visa policies may change, please refer to the official Hungarian government websites for the most up-to-date information.
Invitation Letter
After completing your registration for the International Teaching and Education Conference, the conference organizers will issue an official invitation letter to support your visa application. This letter serves as confirmation of your participation and may be submitted along with your visa application to the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate in your country.
